This is starting to become a habit... that is, updating my blog once every month. Oh well...

=============================================================

November 1 - All Saints' Day. We went to the cemetery (Las Pinas) to visit my father-in-law's grave.

November 2 - Caitlin got the colds. We took her to her pediatrician and was told to use a nebulizer with normal saline solution (NSS) on Caitlin. Sick baby na naman :( Nakakatawa lang kasi she likes the mist from the nebulizer... Tinitikman nya! hehehehe...

November 3 - We received some sad news... Tita Cris, Dad's youngest sibling, is in a coma. She has been battling with the Big C for several years now.

November 7 - The inevitable happened... Tita Cris passed away.

November 10 - Tita Cris was laid to rest (in the US).

November 16 - Marie was in town... had lunch with her and some friends at Timpla, Paseo Center.

November 19 - Went malling.

November 20 - Another milestone for Caitlin. She now eats 'Marie biscuits' and can hold her trainer cup.

November 24 - Sick na naman si Caitlin... She pooped several times during the day. Buti na lang she was in the care of my parents so binigyan kagad nila ng pedialite. When we got home from work, tamang-tama na nag-poop uli sya. I saw blood in her diaper! Naku, natakot ako! We rushed to the hospital to have it tested. We got the result after an hour and it showed na Caitlin has amoebiasis. Saan nya kaya nakuha yon? Anyway, kahit super late na, I called her pedia... Nagising ko pa nga yata eh. Pero wala akong paki... nag-worry kasi talaga ako. I asked her pedia kung anong gamot ang pwedeng ibigay kay Caitlin. She then told us to give her Flagyl and change her formula to AL110. Hay!

November 26 - We went to the pedia for Caitlin's check up. Okay na uli ang little girl. She just has to finish yung prescribed duration ng pag-inom nya ng Flagyl and 1 month na AL110 ang milk. After her pedia visit, we went malling at Megamall (o di ba?! ayaw talaga paawat! hahahaha!!!).

November 27 - Caitlin received her first Christmas gift. It was from her cousins Theo and Valeine. It was a baby carrier.

November 28 - We had a little party for Caitlin to celebrate her 6th month and thanksgiving na rin kasi gumaling na sya. We invited relatives to join us.

November 29 - Six months na ang little girl namin! Ang bilis!

A Tribute

Below is a tribute my brother wrote for our Tita Cris

============================================

We would like to share with you a song, sung by the group Bukas-Palad, that best describes how (Tita) Cris lived her life. She followed and loved God above all and that all she did was for his greater glory.

Pilgrim's Theme

Tired of weaving dreams too loose for me to wear
Tired of watching clouds repeat their dance on air
Tired of getting tired of doing what's required
Is life a mere routine in the greater scheme of things

Through with taking roads someone else designed
Through with chasing stars that soon forget to shine
Through with going through one more day - what's new
Does my life still mean a thing in the greater scheme of things

REFRAIN 1:
I think I'll follow the voice that calls within
Dance to the silent song it sings
I hope to find my place
So my life can fall in place
I know in time I'll find my place
In the greater scheme of things

Each must go his way, but how can I decide
Which path I should take, who will be my guide
I need some kind of star to lead me somewhere far
To find a higher dream in the greater scheme of things

The road before me bends, I don't know what I'll find
Will I meet a friend or ghosts I left behind
Should I even be surprised that You're with me in disguise
For it's Your hand I have seen in the greater scheme of things (REFRAIN 1)

BRIDGE:
For Yours is the voice in my deepest dreams
You are the heart, the very heart
Of the greater scheme of things (REFRAIN 1)

REFRAIN 2:
Why don't we follow the voice that calls within
Dance to the silent song it sings
One day we'll find our place
For all things fall in place
For all things have a place
In the greater scheme of things

This song best describes (Tita) Cris. The refrain says it all, "I think I'll follow the voice that calls within, Dance to the silent song it sings, I hope to find my place, So my life will fall in place, I know in time I’ll find my place, In the greater scheme of things".

She, maybe unconsciously or unknowingly, accepted a mission from God. This is to inspire each and every one of us to follow God and to strengthen our faith in him.

(Tita) Cris has, in one-way or another, deeply touched our lives for we wouldn't be missing her and we wouldn't be reminiscing our memories with her. She is the epitome of strength and grace, a beautiful and endearing lady who extends her infectious charm making our glum face shine and radiate with delight. Even through her tough trials, one can still see a glow in her. You wouldn't see her pain for she would always be smiling, sometimes subdued but most of the time gleeful, making you smile in return. You would know that in her every smile comes a love that truly emanates from her heart. Her loving and cheery nature is her way of telling us that we are not alone and that God is always with us. Even in our darkest hours, (Tita) Cris is telling us that God is also there. He is there calming us, sometimes he is there to carry us over our hardships, and he is there always sacrificing himself so that we would be redeemed from our own wrongdoings.

(Tita) Cris indeed followed the voice that calls within. And this enabled her to find her place in the greater scheme of things. And now that she is with our Lord God and our loving Mother Mary, she is still inspiring us to "Follow the voice that calls within, dance to the song it sings, so that we'll also find our place, and all things will fall in place, because all things have a place, in the greater scheme of things".

We love you (Tita) Cris. You're always in our hearts. With you, we'll follow the voice that calls within.

The Inevitable Happened

Just this morning, I was restlessly surfing the net, looking for a flight to the US. It's been a few days and the only news that we have is that Tita Cris is still in a coma. I wanted to go and see her even for the last time. Unfortunately, the earliest flight that I could take is still in December.
Just after lunch, we received the news... Tita Cris has passed away. We knew it was just a matter of time. We knew it was coming, but that didn't ease the sadness I felt. I willed myself not to cry... at least, not while I was in the office. But I couldn't concentrate. Lots of memories flooded my mind. I found myself browsing pictures of her (in my laptop) and reading emails I received from her the past years. I still couldn't believe that she's gone.

But I am consoled by the thought that she is no longer in pain and that she is in heaven with Papa Yoyong and Ninang Juliet.

I will really miss you, Tita Cris!

The October that was

Posted by ceztlavie at 3:27 PM

I haven't had time to update my blog in a while. I've been too busy with work and a lot has happened. So let me just share my updates in just one post :)

October 1 - Caitlin attended Nino's 1st birthday party at the Hard Rock Cafe in Glorietta, Makati. It was a costume party having Justice League as the theme. Caitlin went as Supergirl! She's so cute!

October 3 - Inubo si Caitlin a few days back so we had to go back to her pedia for a follow-up medical check up. Eventhough she was sick, she gained weight. 6kg na sya!

October 7 - Caitlin gamely posed for the camera. Below are just some of her pictures :)

October 8 - We attended a friend's wedding in Tagaytay. Ceremony was at Don Bosco Chapel on the Hill, while the reception was at Ville Sommet.

October 10 - Na-discover yata ni little girl ang voice nya. Natuto na syang tumili! Hahahaha!

October 11 - Our 2nd wedding anniversary. Caitlin's first pasyal at Rizal Park

October 19 - Caitlin said "Mommy"!

October 21 - Caitlin said "Daddy"!

October 22 - Attended Bianca's 2nd birthday party at Discovery Suites, Ortigas.

October 25 - Another day of posing in front of the camera :)

October 29 - Caitlin is 5 months old!

October 31 - We started giving Caitlin her first solid food. She had her 1st taste of squash. Grabe, parang gutom na gutom! Akala mo ang tagal na hindi pinakain! Hahaha!!!

2nd Wedding Anniversary

It's our 2nd wedding anniversary today! How time flies! Dati, dalawa lang kaming nagce-celebrate. Ngayon, meron na rin kaming Caitlin to celebrate with us.

Simple lang ang pagcelebrate namin this year. Since I had an interview at the US Embassy in the morning, pinasyal muna nina Marlon and parents ko si Caitlin sa Rizal Park (a.k.a. Luneta) while waiting for me. After the interview, around noon, we just had lunch. Tapos we went home for a while para makapag-rest ako kahit konti. Ang aga kasi ng interview appointment ko.

After ko makapag-rest, nanood lang kaming dalawa ng movie, The 40-year old Virgin, sa Gateway Mall then had dinner at Pizza Hut Bistro. Nag-ikot-ikot lang ng konti sa mall then umuwi na. Ganon lang ka-simple. Pero masaya naman kami :)

Happy anniversary, Honey! Here's looking forward to more years with you. I love you!

Which Movie Mom Am I?

Posted by ceztlavie at 9:46 AM

I got this from
Ameeh.

Cez, your movie mom match is My Big Fat Greek Wedding's Maria Portokalos

Maria Portokalos may not have been the focus of the movie, but that's the only way she would have had it. You, like Maria, are the backbone of your family, but you do it without ever wanting to be the center of attention. You know what we're talking about — your kids always seek out your well-thought-out and sincere advice, and your husband knows who really wears the pants in your house.

You consider motherhood a delicate balancing act — you're strong and tough when necessary, but it's tempered with love and respect. Fiercely loyal, you always act with your family's best interest at heart. And that's just the way you want it.
