Why are there people who make mountains out of a molehill? Simple issues or problems that can easily be solved are made out to be something really huge and becomes a big deal! Kakainis!!!

Childbirth classes - To Take or Not To Take

I've started reading a lot about pregnancy and babies since finding out I was pregnant. I've bought a book ("What to expect when you're expecting", "Chicken Soup for the Expectant Mother's Soul") and several magazines. I even surfed the internet and signed up with a couple of sites (www.babycenter.com, www.babyzone.com).

Then I came across the topic of taking childbirth classes. There are a few who offer such classes here in the Philippines. I've asked some friends who've taken those classes if they were really beneficial and worth it. All of them gave good feedback. After hearing them out, I was convinced I wanted to take it too.

So I mentioned it to my hubby. Guess what? He refused, saying that there have been many before use who gave birth successfully without attending such classes. He even argued that the money we will have spend for the classes can be added to our baby fund instead. A valid point!

I didn't reason with him, I just accepted his point. Now, I just try to read as much as I can about childbirth... Thinking that my mom gave birth to three children without those classes and her mom gave birth to 6 children without those classes and her mom's mom gave birth to... well, you get the picture.

More Baby Stuff

Posted by ceztlavie at 4:48 PM

Maaga kaming umuwi ni Marlon yesterday so we had time to pass by SM (may baby sale pa rin) and buy more baby stuff. This time, I brought my list. Kakatawa... para kaming naggro-grocery. Hehehehe!!!

Anyways, we bought a couple of frogsuits, a few bibs, a dozen cloth diapers, diaper pins, some towels and wash cloths for the baby. We didn't buy much kasi medyo madali na akong mapagod.

Madami pa kaming kulang... but I know, we still have time. I'm looking forward to the coming weekend kasi we're going shopping again!

Happy Easter!

Baby Stuff

Hubby surprised me last night and took me shopping... well, at least, shopping for our coming baby.

He picked me up early from work sabay sabi, "Tara baby, daan tayo sa SM. Bili na tayo ng ibang gamit ni baby". Napa-smile naman ako and syempre na-excite! But what the heck! Basta bibili kami ng things ni baby!

So off to SM we went (may baby sale kasi)... went straight to the infant department and went through some stuff. Got to buy the following:

- tie-sides, sleeveless
- tie-sides, short sleeves
- receiving blankets
- booties
- mittens
- bonnets
- hooded blankets

We didn't buy much.

Took out my layette list and checked the items we bought. Ang dami pang kailangan bilhin! Pero ok lang. We still have time. Unti-unti lang.

Until the next shopping day!

Had my usual checkup last weekend. Everything looks fine. According to my ob-gyne, the baby is strong. Ang lakas ng heartbeat at sobrang likot! Hahahaha!!! Had another ultrasound to see kung makikita na namin yung gender.

OB: (looking at monitor) Hmmm... mukhang baby girl. Kita mo yang guhit na yan?
Me: Yes, doc.
OB: Mukhang slit... mukhang baby girl.
Me: Ah ok. Thanks, doc.

Yipee! Marlon was with me then... He had a wide grin on his face

PS - sana lang di nagtatago yung pututuy nya! Hehehehe... :P

It's been a while...

Posted by ceztlavie at 9:21 AM

It's been a while since my first post. I haven't had the chance to update my blog recently; with my pregnancy and all.

A lot has happened since then...

... slipping and falling flat on my butt! This required me to go on bedrest for a week.

... father-in-law died during the holidays. It was really so sad :(

... had contractions early February (was 5 months pregnant then). I didn't know they were contractions then! I was rushed to the hospital and was diagnosed to be having threatened preterm labor. My ob-gyne thought it best to have me admitted in the hospital. I stayed there for almost 3 days... complete bedrest... no bathroom priveleges at all! Yikes! After discharge, I was required to go on bedrest for another week.

I'm now on my 7th month of pregnancy. I hope all goes
smoothly.
