Sean's First Haircut

Posted by ceztlavie at 9:36 PM

Monday, May 18, 2009

The little boy had his first haircut last May 10. The whole family was at Megamall to celebrate Mother's Day and we passed by Cuts4Tots so we decided to have his hair cut.

Sean was very well behaved and didn't throw any fit while his hair was being cut. Even the barber was impressed.

Here are some pictures...

Before the haircut

During the haircut session

After

It didn't look like there was much of a difference since he just had a trim. But he was less irritable after that :)

WS MemoirMonday: The Day After

A repost from WifeSpeaks

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

I will always remember the speech that my late father-in-law gave during our wedding.

He said that marriage can be likened to a voyage in the sea where the husband is the captain and the wife is the ship. It will not always be smooth sailing. There will always be strong currents, big waves and storms that we will go through. But whatever happens, the captain should never abandon the ship.

The day after the wedding marks the beginning of a voyage that both the husband and wife will take (hopefully) for the rest of their lives.

Wifespeaks: Foodie Wednesday

Today is FoodieWednesday on WifeSpeaks. And since this week's main topic is Commitment and most of the misis already shared their wedding cake or wedding banquet, I decided to share something else.

These photos were taken during our 5th wedding anniversary date last year. We had lunch at the New Orleans at Bonifacio High Street. Hubby had the Roast Chicken while I had the Blackened Blue Marlin. They were delicious, to say the least!

Caitlin-isms

One day, at a restaurant, the little girl asked for a teaspoon. So we asked for one from the waiter. When the waiter arrived with her teaspoon, the little girl asked,

"Where's my teafork?"

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

In the car during a long drive...

Me: "Caitlin, can you please behave? You're so kulit!"
Caitlin: "I'm kulit. But I'm not the kulitest!" (i.e., kulit, kuliter, kulitest... get it?!)

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

While peeking behind a toy binoculars

Caitlin: "Mommy, you look closer"
Me: "Yes, Caitlin, I look closer"

Then she looked through the binoculars from the other end

Caitlin: "Mommy, you now look layo-er!"

Hahahaha! :P

WS ChikaTuesday: Commitment - The Proposal

Posted by ceztlavie at 7:19 AM

Wifespeaks: Chika Tuesday

Just as every girl has imagined what her dream wedding would be, she has also imagined her dream proposal -- a candlelit dinner at a romantic place, being serenaded with beautiful music, her man getting down on one knee, presenting her with a very beautiful diamond ring and asking her to be his forever.

None of that happened for me. No romantic dinner. No music. No kneeling down on one knee. No ring (at least, at the time that he asked).

My (now) husband simply told me, "Let's get married". I felt ready so I said, "Okay, let's". And as they say, the rest is history.

By the way, though it was 5 months late, he still gave me an engagement ring :)

Oh, and he somehow "proposed". A couple of weeks before our wedding, he gave me a Palm Tungsten II as a pre-wedding gift. When I turned it on, it said, "Will you marry me?". I turned to him, smiled and said, "Yes, of course".

How about you, what's your proposal story? Join us here.

"Wear this ring
As a sign of my love and loyalty
In the name of the Father
And of the Son
And of the Holy Spirit"

These wedding rings are a symbol of our commitment to love and be faithful to each other for as long as we live.

A Very Busy Weekend

Posted by ceztlavie at 4:03 PM

Monday, February 23, 2009

The weekend passed by so quickly that I wondered where it has gone. I guess, it must be because it was a very busy weekend for us.

Our weekend officially started on Friday night. I began assembling Sean's party loot bags (er, i mean, loot "cups"). Caitlin was so excited for the party that she offered to help me with the assembly. We decided to call it a night when I saw that we still lack candies for the loot and prizes. Besides, the little girl has play therapy early the next day. I don't want her all sluggish and sleepy during her session.

Our Saturday morning started with Caitlin's play therapy. Her pediatrician recommended that she undergo therapy to address the trauma she has due to the vehicular accident we were involved in last December. It was her 2nd session (out of the 4 sessions initially recommended by her psychologist).

Saturday afternoon, we attended Bernice's 1st birthday party held at the Kensington Place at the Fort. The party's theme was Dora the Explorer and the little girl had fun dancing to Dora's songs. She even sang along. Sean also seemed to enjoy looking at the balloons and decors, and dancing to the songs played during the party.

During the party, I came to realize that my little girl has grown up. She actively participated in all the games and socialized with the other kids whom she only met there. She no longer clings to Mommy or Daddy. I was so proud of her!

We headed home at around 7pm.

Sunday was spent at the mall, buying more prizes and candies for the little boy's 1st birthday party this March. Good thing there were a lot of items on sale. Both kids also bagged 2 pairs of shoes each, courtesy of their Tito Francis (thanks, bro!).

After the mall, we went to church to hear mass then went home.

Since we already have the items we lacked, we resumed assembling the loot "cups" and preparing the prizes. Again, Caitlin was Mommy's little helper. We finished everything at around 11pm.

So that was our weekend... very busy one, indeed! Don't you agree?

I'm Back!

Yes, I know. I've been a bit (too) lazy in updating my blog. I've been very busy lately, both with work and with the preparations for our little boy's 1st birthday party this March. And taking care of 2 very 'makulit' and 'malikot' kids really takes a lot! I rarely have time for myself, let alone time to do other things.

Anyway, just to give an initial update... I'm happy to share that I lost around 7lbs in just a little over 2 weeks. And that's without using any weight loss products! Isn't that great? I just hope I can stick to my diet :)

And I hope I can update my blog more often :)

"Mommy, where's his Daddy?"

Posted by ceztlavie at 4:18 PM

Wednesday, January 21, 2009

To unwind from a busy day at work, I usually watch a couple of 'teleseryes' when I get home while I let my 2 very active 'bulilits' play.

Last night was no exception. I watched my nightly dose of teleseryes. I didn't notice that my little girl stopped playing and was actually watching with me. So imagine my surprise when she suddenly asked me, "Mommy, where is his Daddy?" (The teleserye was about 2 boys with the same father but 1 of them never knew who his father was).

Anyway, since I was caught unaware by little girl's question, I didn't know what to tell her or how to explain. I just told her that the boy has a father but he just doesn't know who. Then I continued to tell her that there are kids who just do not have daddies. And that she's lucky she has both a mommy and a daddy.

I really found it hard to explain to her in a way she'd understand so I left it at that. Luckily, she didn't ask more questions.

Part of me considers this a proud mommy moment. It showed that my little girl is paying more attention to things other than the usual ones that she's interested in. But part of me is worried that I will not be able to keep up with her questions.

I guess I'd better be prepared... what if she asks me "where she came from" next?

Maligayang LP!

It's Party Planning Time Again!

Posted by ceztlavie at 3:49 PM

Tuesday, January 13, 2009

This time, for Sean's 1st birthday.

I still remember when we planned for Caitlin's 1st birthday party. We crammed with the preparations. This time, it's no different. We're still cramming! Hahaha! We barely have 2 months to prepare.

Anyway, here's what we've done so far:

1) Theme - this is a non-negotiable. Can you guess what it is? It's something hubby is a big fan of. If you guessed "Formula 1", you're right!

2) Venue - we've already booked the Big Red Barn at Fun Ranch Pasig for the party.

3) Invitations - courtesy of my cousin B and her hubby.

4) Photo - my brothers N and J, and cousin B (again!)

5) Food/Food carts - we just have to finalize the menu since this comes with the venue.

6) Entertainment - booked with the venue, too

7) Decors - we need to finalize this with the venue, too

8) Cake - we've found a supplier that does an F1 themed cake and cupcakes. We just haven't booked their services yet.

9) Lootbag/Souvenirs/Giveaways - all we have are ideas for these. We still haven't decided and we're still open to suggestions. So if you have ideas, let me know! :)

10) Birthday attire - we're still looking for an affordable race car outfit for the birthday boy.

11) Video - no supplier yet.

I guess that's it. I hope we make it in time :)
