Cez't La Vie: June 2006

May bagong word na namang alam si Caitlin... ampaya (ampalaya). Meron kasing tanim na ampalaya ang Dad ko. Tinuro nya kay Caitlin at sinabing amplaya ang tawag don. Ayun, inulit-ulit na... "ampaya, ampaya". Hahahaha! Nakakatuwa!

Isa pang ikinagulat ko kagabi... Naringgan kong tinatanong si Caitlin ng Dad ko, "Caitlin, 1 + 1?". Biglang sumagot ang anak ko, "Tu (two)". Nyay! Bigla akong napatayo at napatakbo! Inulit ko kay Caitlin ang tanong, "tu" pa rin ang sagot nya! Ang galing!

Tinanong ko ang Dad ko kung tinuruan nya si Caitlin. Sabi nya, once lang nya sinabi (at pabiro pa dahil di naman nya ine-expect na magreretain kay Caitlin), "Caitlin, 1 + 1 equals 2". Tapos, tinanong nya, "Caitlin, 1 + 1?". Sumagot ng "tu"! Hay kakatuwa! Kahit ilang beses namin tanungin, consistent sya sa sagot :)

Minsan di ko alam kung matutuwa ako o kakabahan sa anak ko. Ang dami na kasing alam for her age. Kadalasan pa, wala namang nagtuturo sa kanya. At kung turuan naman sya, ang bilis nyang ma-absorb ang tinuturo sa kanya. Hay!

Mas dapat yata akong matuwa at magpasalamat! :)

Last May 29, our little baby girl became a toddler. Ang bilis ng panahon! 1 year old na sya. Parang kelan lang ako nanganak.

Anyway, we had a mini party at home (on the actual day of her birthday) to celebrate. We just had cake and pasta.

We had the birthday party on June 3, kasabay ng birthday ni hubby. We had Disney Babies for the theme.

Here are our suppliers:

1) VENUE - Artists' Pavilion, Makati Park and Garden (Mr. Medina, 899-8994)
~ Our relatives were either from the north (QC area) or from the south (Las Pinas/Paranaque). So we wanted a venue that was halfway. We didn't want to have it in restaurants or at McDo/Jollibee kasi limited ang time, 2 hrs lang. Ayaw din namin sa clubhouses, as much as possible. kasi most of the guests do not have cars. We wanted somewhere accessible for everyone. We visited Makati Park one weekend and we decided it was the best venue to hold the party. Knowing na mabilis maubos ang slots for the venue, I contacted Mr. Medina asap and inquired if they still have an open slot for June 3. Swerte! Open pa ang 2-6pm slot. The other slots for that day were already reserved. So the following day, during my lunch break (si hubby di na pumasok), we went to Makati City Hall to reserve. Mahirap na baka maunahan pa kami :)
It was very spacious, big enough for the party. Ok din kasi indoors sya. Maulan pa naman lately.

2) CATERER - Blue Petals Catering (http://www.bluepetalscatering.com)
~ We reserved for 120 adults and 50 kids although the invited guests were around 200. But di naman kami kinulang sa food. Dami pa nga naming nauwi eh. Siguro dahil din merienda time yung party. Eh yung food selection na ni-reserve namin eh pwede nang pang-dinner (hahahaha!!!). They have very nice staff both before and during the event. Di kami nahirapan makipag-usap. Sila pa ang tumawag sa amin a few days before the party to confirm all the details.

3) INVITATIONS - c/o Maver Monet (http://maver.wifespeaks.com/)
~ Gift ni maver Monet kay Caitlin (to quote her: "from the bottom of my a$$.. Este, heart pala") Hahahaha!!! Thanks Maver!

4) PHOTO/VIDEO - Chei and Bong De Villa of Moments of Life Photostory (http://thephotostory.multiply.com)
~ Chei and Bong were former wawies. We initially wanted John Aguas kaso booked na sya for the day. I inquired with Chei and swak sa budget yung rates nila. We got the photos (in a cd) after 4-5 days. Ganda ng pics! Ngayon, kailangan naming pumili ng pics to include in the album (mahirap 'to!). They told me na I get to approve the layout first before they print anything for the album. I can also have the album based on the theme :) I can't give any feedback on the video kasi di pa tapos. I'm hoping, maganda din kalalabasan non. By the way, ang galing nilang magtrabaho kasi di ko napapansin na kumukuha sila ng pics :)

5) PARTY HOST/MAGICIAN - Wizzo (http://www.Wizzo.eSmartBiz.com)
~ We wanted Wanlu sana kaso di kaya ng budget namin. We got Wizzo and his package includes party hosting + balloon twisting + magic show. He took care of the games na rin. He just told us to make sure that we have at least 30 prizes for the games and sya na ang bahala. Marami namang nag-enjoy sa show ni Wizzo (kids and adults alike) kaya sulit na rin ang pagkuha namin sa kanya. Madali din syang kausap.

6) FACE PAINTER - Ryan (0919-2406276)
~ Learned about him in naw. I just texted him and yun na. Payment was made on the day itself. He was even the one who texted me to confirm. Madaling kausap. Sulit din!

7) DECOR/PARTY ORGANIZER - Bing Madridejos of Party Station (916-6198/0918-9286185)
~ Saw their work during Monet's Nino's birthday party at Hard Rock. We were impressed and decided to get them. Halos lahat sa kanila namin kinuha - lootbags (w/ loot), cake (w/ cookies and cupcakes), foodcarts, game prizes, personalized birthday banner, pinata/balloon burst, balloon décor package. Gusto kasi namin 1 lang ang kausap kaya sa kanila na namin kinuha karamihan ng kailangan for the party. Madali din kausap. They let me approve everything before they go ahead and print/buy. They were able to deliver and we were very satisfied! I recommend them.
